Beating all comers: Panelbeater Michael Brejwo has won the Motor Traders Association of NSW Apprentice of the Year award. Mr Brejwo, who works at Bambach Panelbeaters at Williamtown, was selected from all apprentices in the motor trade including mechanics, auto electricians, painters and panelbeaters. MTA representatives first noticed his exceptional performance at Glendale TAFE, where he finished first in 1996. He then won a gold medal at the 1996 Hunter National Workskills competition before being selected for the 1996-97 TAFE Smash Repair team. Last year he won the 1997 NRMA State Apprentice of the Year award and a silver medal at the National Workskills competition. Mr Brejwo's previous awards were taken into consideration by the MTA in presenting this year's award.
